A man’s been arrested after a paedophile hunter provided Wiltshire Police with evidence of a conversation which had allegedly taken place with an underage girl online.
Officers attended an address in Calne in the early hours of yesterday morning to make the arrest, just five hours after a member of the group Innocent Voices called 101 to report the crime.
The man, in his 30s, was taken into custody on suspicion of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child following the visit at around 4am.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A man in his 30s from Calne has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
“He was arrested and taken to Melksham custody and has since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.”
