A man’s been seriously injured in a violent attack at M4 services in Wiltshire.
Police were called to an assault at the eastbound services at Leigh Delemere, near Chippenham, shortly before midnight on Tuesday (25 June).
The victim was treated outside the Travelodge by a member of public before being taken to hospital. His injuries are said to be serious but not life-threatening.
Wiltshire Police has confirmed that a 36-year-old man is being held in custody on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
According to staff on the site, the victim was ‘bottled’ – and suffered significant blood loss.
This morning (Wednesday), forensics were present to photograph the area and comb for evidence.
The hotel’s main entrance and a patch of grass have been cordoned off as investigations continue. A bench – with two beer bottles and marker cones – is visible within the scene.
A detective was also present, as uniformed police officer watched over the scene.
