A man has been rescued from a lake in Wiltshire this evening (Thursday).
Emergency services rushed to reports of a person in the water at Westbury Sailing Lake, off Station Approach and Amazon Way, at around 8pm.
Police officers, firefighters and paramedics attended with the assistance of the National Police Air Service helicopter – which was tasked from its base in Bristol.
By 8.30pm, the man was brought ashore and received medical attention before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
At the height of the incident, several police units were on scene alongside at least six fire service appliances.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews from Trowbridge and Warminster responded alongside senior officers.
The rescue was carried out by technical rescue crews from the Avon Fire and Rescue Service area, who deployed a boat.
There is some suggestion from witnesses that the incident was mental health-related.
All emergency services had left the scene – following a debrief – by 9.20pm.
