A man has died after a serious assault at a Foxhill motocross event last week.
Emergency services were called to the incident at around 9.15pm on Thursday (22 August).
A man, aged in his 30s, sustained significant injuries and was rushed to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol for urgent care.
Despite medics’ best efforts, he has since died and an investigation into the fatal assault has been passed to the Major Crime Investigation Team.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time – they are being supported by specialist officers”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
34-year-old Ben Starr, of Woodside Avenue, Ripley, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was released on bail until his next appearance on 27 September.
