Emergency services were called to a serious road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the A346 at Collingbourne Ducis on the morning of 19 April.

The incident involved two cars – a Land Rover and a Volkswagen ID3 – and a motorcyclist at around 10am. The injured biker, Antonio Monteiro, was rushed to hospital.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he passed away surrounded by his wife, son and close family and friends on Saturday (25 April).

A GoFundMe has been launched to help his immediate family. The money will go towards funeral costs and provide financial support as they come to terms with their loss.

“Antonio was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a dear friend to so many”, it reads.

“He had a way of bringing light into every room—always smiling, always making others smile, and always there when someone needed him.

“His loss is being felt deeply by everyone who knew and loved him.”

Following the serious crash, Wiltshire Police were forced to appeal for information after one of the cars believed to be involved failed to stop at the scene.

In the latest update, a spokesperson said: “A motorcyclist has sadly died following a collision in Collingbourne Ducis.

“Shortly after 10am on April 19, emergency services were called to the A346 following a collision involving a Land Rover, a Volkswagen ID3 and a motorbike.

“The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to Southampton Hospital by air ambulance with life threatening injuries but sadly died at the weekend.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family who are being supported by specialist trained officers.

“Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the collision should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 and quote log number 84 or April 19 or email [email protected].”
