A man has died after a fire destroyed a houseboat in Lechlade Marina.
Emergency services were called to the blaze at around 6.30am today (Friday).
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service crews extinguished the flames.
On investigation, a man was found to have died inside the boat and the Gloucestershire Constabulary were informed of the death.
A fire investigator is working with the police to establish the cause of the fire and recover the man’s body.
“Work is ongoing to notify his next of kin and the coroner has been informed”, a force spokesperson said.
Adding: “The cause of the fire is under investigation and officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area from around 6am and may have information to come forward.
