Man dies as police and ambulance called to Melksham cemetery incident

A man has died following an incident at a cemetery in Melksham this afternoon (Thursday).

Police officers and paramedics rushed to St Michael’s Church, in Canon Square, at around 1pm.

Two ambulances, two ambulance cars and at least four police vehicles were spotted at the scene.

A police officer was witnessed running to the Post Office in Church Street to collect the defibrillator.

Wiltshire Police has since confirmed that a man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead on location.

The force stressed that there were no suspicious circumstances.
