A man has denied kicking a 10-year-old boy in the head after ‘laughing at him’.
Jamie Whitaker pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm when he appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday (31 March).
Prosecutor Asha Seenauth alleged the 19-year-old defendant laughed at the boy as he fell off his skateboard near his home address in Pinto Walk, Westbury.
It’s claimed Whitaker then ran out of his property and kicked the youngster in the head. He sustained wounds to his face and mouth, which were bleeding.
Due to the age of the alleged victim and the level of injury, the case was sent to Salsbury Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 3 May.
The defendant was released on unconditional bail.
