A man has been deliberately run over during a serious assault near Westbury.
The incident happened at Chalcot Park, on the A3098 near Dilton Marsh, at around 2.40pm yesterday afternoon (20 March).
Emergency services, including critical care medics from Wiltshire Air Ambulance, were called to reports of a man stuck under a gate with serious injuries.
It is believed that two men were trying to gain access to the site and when the owner refused, they struck the gate with their vehicle – leaving him trapped.
The man, aged in his 60s, was rushed to hospital by land ambulance with potentially life-changing injuries to his legs.
A silver BMW, believed to be the same vehicle used in the incident, was found abandoned on Black Dog Hill lay-by a short time later.
