A man has been found dead after reportedly being exposed to cyanide in Bath.
Emergency services were called to a serious incident at an address in Lower Borough Walls at around 4.25pm on Sunday afternoon (22 February).
Specially trained Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) medics were deployed to the scene, wearing protective suits and respiratory masks to enter the building.

A man, whose age has not been disclosed, was found dead inside. It’s understood he had been exposed to the deadly chemical cyanide days earlier.
Details around the circumstances are unclear at this stage, but Avon and Somerset Police stressed that the death is being “considered non-suspicious”.

A force spokesperson said that “there is not believed to be any wider risk to the public”, despite the significant 999 response into the evening.
They added: “Sadly, a man was found deceased at the property. Their next of kin has been informed and our thoughts are with them.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience while our enquiries were carried out.”

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that they sent “one double-crewed land ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, and the hazardous area response team to the scene.”
While Avon Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: “At 16:36 on Sunday 22 February, a crew from Avon Fire & Rescue Service was mobilised to assist Avon and Somerset Police as part of a multi-agency response to a police-led incident.”
