A man has been arrested for indecent exposure after an incident near Silbury Hill.
Police were called to reports of a male exposing himself close to the historic mount – which is part of the Avebury World Heritage Site – on Monday evening (24 June).
Officers stopped the suspect, a man aged in his 40s, was detained and subsequently arrested in a lay-by at West Kennet Long Barrow.
A witness to the arrest said prior to the police arriving on scene, he was seen holding a beer and acting “very hyper” and was “continuously talking and talking at a lady”.

He has since been released under investigation while the investigation continues.
