A man has been arrested and charged after a house was ‘set on fire’ in Swindon.
Emergency services raced to reports of a blaze at a property in Stardust Crescent, Oakhurst, around 10.20pm on Saturday evening (13 September).
One casualty – understood to be a female occupant from the address – was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A man arrested on suspicion of arson and questioned in custody.
Tony Ball, of Shakespeare Road, Royal Wootton Bassett, has since been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
He was remanded in police custody to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court this morning (Monday).
The 36-year-old was remanded in custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at Swindon Crown Court on 17 September.
