Man arrested after armed police deployed to ‘altercation’ in central Salisbury

A man has been arrested after armed police were deployed to an ‘altercation’ overnight.

Wiltshire Police was called to Barnard Street shortly after midnight this morning (Saturday 17 September).

Firearms officers were sent to the scene – arresting a 25-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill.

In a statement, the force wrote: “We were called just after midnight to reports of an altercation between two men at the location.

“Officers attended and a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.

“He remains in custody at this time. No-one was injured.”
