A man has been arrested after armed police raced to a disorder at a home in Swindon.
Firearms officers were deployed following reports of an altercation inside a property in Clouts Wood, Peatmoor, at around 9pm on Thursday (27 February).
Local residents told of how armed police carrying rifles and wearing ballistic helmets had swarmed the street amid where appeared to be a serious incident.
A Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) ambulance crew from Bristol were also sent to the scene, with medics wearing ballistic vests as they waited to hear if anyone was hurt.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that a 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
He remained in custody for questioning this afternoon (Friday).
The force said that firearms officers “responded as a precaution”, and said that nobody was injured.
