A man has been arrested after a woman was found seriously hurt in a Wiltshire park.
Police were called to the scene in Trowbridge Town Park at 6.15pm yesterday after being made aware of the casualty, who had suffered a serious injury to her arm.
The woman, in her 30s, initially declined treatment but was later taken to hospital by paramedics.
“Her condition is not believed to be life-threatening”, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said.
Adding: “Our enquiries suggested this was not a random assault, but that she had been injured by someone known to her.”
A 29-year-old man from Trowbridge was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and is currently in custody at Melksham Police Station.
