A man’s been arrested after shining a laser at the local police helicopter in Gloucestershire.

The aircraft from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) was conducting a search over an area of Gloucester when the pilot was struck by the laser from a below property in the early hours of today.

Police officers were guided into the address on the ground and arrested a 24-year-old man suspicion of endangering an aircraft, which is often seen in the skies above Wiltshire.

The laser pen was seized, and the man is currently in custody.

The helicopter pilot wasn’t injured in the incident.
