A man’s been airlifted to an Oxford hospital following a mental health incident in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Walcot at approximately 8.45pm where a man was found on scaffolding erected around a house in Naunton Road.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed on Buckhurst Field so the charity’s specialist critical care medics would provide immediate life-saving treatment to the casualty.

A number of fire crews were in attendance, including a rope rescue unit from Chippenham. The fire service attended after receiving a request for assistance from Wiltshire Police.
999 crews worked together at the incident to rescue the casualty from the first-floor scaffolding before he was put into an ambulance, taken to the helicopter and flown to John Radcliffe Hospital. The man’s condition is currently unknown.

Detectives from Swindon CID were in attendance at the scene, talking to eyewitnesses.
