A man is due to appear in court charged with invading the County Ground pitch.
Jaxson March, 24, is expected to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (23 February).
He is charged with an offence of going onto playing area at a designated football match, a criminal law under the Football (Offences) Act 1991.
The offence is alleged to have taken place on 22 January this year, when Swindon Town played Bristol Rovers at the County Ground, drawing 1-1.

The Act states: “It is an offence for a person at a designated football match to go onto the playing area, or any area adjacent to the playing area to which spectators are not generally admitted, without lawful authority or lawful excuse (which shall be for him to prove).”
If found guilty of the crime, the defendant, of Woodwell Road, Shirehampton, Bristol, faces a £1,000 fine and could be banned from attending future football matches at any ground and relating to any team in the UK.
