A 24-year-old has been arrested after a man was found seriously injured in the street.
Detectives launched an investigation into the assault, which happened in the Meadowcroft area of Swindon between 10pm on Thursday (27 January) and the early hours of Friday (28 January).
The victim was found in Beechcroft Road and rushed to hospital where he remains ‘fighting for his life’, according to a source.
CCTV footage was released yesterday, and following “extensive enquiries”, officers have arrested a 24-year-old local man on suspicion of robbery. He remains in custody at Gablecross for questioning.
An investigation remains ongoing, with the force urging anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area late on Friday evening into the early hours of Saturday morning to contact them on 101 and quote crime reference number 54220009744.

Detective Inspector Rachel Hardy said: “This was a nasty incident which has left the victim with some very serious injuries which are really shocking.
“He is still receiving treatment for these injuries in hospital and has been left extremely shaken up.”
