A man has been charged with attacking another man in a violent assault.
Jahred Tafari is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (10 February) charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
The 22-year-old, of Beech Avenue, Pinehurst, is accused of injuring a man, who suffered a puncture wound to the face along with other head injuries.
The serious incident took place near the defendant’s home address on 22 June 2020.
At around 11pm, police cordoned off an area of Beech Avenue following the attack, which extended to around a blue Audi – which is believed to be linked to the incident.
The National Police Air Service helicopter was over the scene by 11.45pm as officers undertook an urgent search for those connected to the attack.
Armed officers kitted up and raided a property in Pinehurst Road a short time later.
GBH with intent is an offence that, if convicted, carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. It is usually charged for the most serious of assaults.
