A man with more than 200 convictions has been found guilty of assaulting his carer.
Infamous Ian Pounds denied attacking the man in May 2021, but at a Swindon Magistrates’ Court trial on 29 September, a guilty verdict was returned.
The 52-year-old defendant, of Bath Road, Old Town, is well-known to the justice system, racking up more than 200 convictions in his lifetime – mostly relating to burglaries.
In 2014 he was jailed for breaching his anti-social behaviour order (ASBO), which prohibited him from begging or selling in Swindon town centre.
The victim in the case wasn’t injured in the incident and remains a carer for Pounds.
Magistrates imposed a £60 fine and ordered him to pay £150 in prosecution costs and a £34 surcharge.
