A major search operation was carried out following reports of a missing elderly woman.
The police helicopter circled a rural area between Chippenham and Malmesbury from around 8pm last night (Tuesday 14 March) after the 85-year-old with dementia disappeared.
Officers on the ground patrolled Great Somerford, Little Somerford, Upper Seagry and Sutton Benger as part of the urgent mission to locate the woman.
At around 9pm, Wiltshire Police issued a public appeal for help – but it was deleted just minutes later, when she was found on a nearby farm.
Wiltshire Search and Rescue was tasked but volunteers were swiftly stood down.
