A man’s died after his van hit a wall in the village of Goatacre this morning.

Emergency services were seen racing to the incident on A3102 at around 11.20am, with an air ambulance landing in a field nearby. A collision investigation unit also attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called to The Green at around 11.20am today (28/10) following a report that a van had collided with a wall.

“The driver of the van, a man in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.

“Our enquiries into the cause of the collision are ongoing, but we are hoping to speak to anyone who either saw the van prior to the crash, or who may have dash cam footage of the vehicle.

“It was a white Ford Transit van, which was travelling northbound on the A3102 before it left the road.

“Anyone with information should call Wiltshire Police’s Collision Investigation Unit on 01380 861049 and ask to speak to PC Pete Williamson. You should quote log 116 of today (28/10).
