The M4 is set to be closed in one direction for the entire weekend for resurfacing work.
Whilst most work has been undertaken during overnight closures up until now, Highways England says that ‘deep layer resurfacing’ requires full closures due to the time it takes for the materials to harden.
From 9pm tonight, the motorway’s eastbound carriageway between Junction 15 (Swindon) and Junction 14 (Hungerford) will be shut – reopening at 6am on Monday.
During the closures, signed diversions will be in place with motorists primarily being asked to use the A4.
