The M4 motorway was closed between Swindon and Chippenham again yesterday, after a second road traffic collision involving five vehicles.
Firefighters were called to rescue the driver one of the vehicles – who suffered a stroke behind the wheel – and subsequently rolled the car down the embankment.
The road was closed westbound at around 11pm, for approximately one hour, while emergency services worked at the scene and recovered vehicles involved.
Traffic released #M4 westbound between J16 and J17 following a further incident involving 5 cars which are now on hard shoulder.

Just hours earlier, a driver died when he collided with the central reservation on the same stretch of motorway – between junctions 16 and 17.
