A suspected paedophile has been arrested just a couple of hundred yards away from a police station in Melksham this afternoon.
Paedophile hunter Danny Catcher, understood to be based in north Wiltshire, carried out the sting outside the new Travelodge hotel off the A350 at around 3pm today, Wednesday 11 April.
The man, thought to be in his 30s, was arrested in the incident, and was taken to Melksham custody where he remains.
A police officer was seen conducting a search of the suspect’s car – a Renault which was parked near Greggs – for about 15 minutes before leaving the scene.
Danny Catcher told Wiltshire 999s: “Today I have carried out a sting in Melksham, Wiltshire. A man from London came to meet a child following sexual grooming, but he was instead confronted by myself. He was subsequently arrested and taken to police custody. He also admitted that he had child pornography on his phone.“
