A local man has been killed in a two vehicle crash on the A4361 yesterday evening.
999 crews were called to the scene at around 6.30pm on Friday, where a white Ford Focus collided with the rear of a grey Land Rover Freelander in Winterbourne Bassett — both cars ended up in a field.
Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed between Wroughton and Avebury for around six hours for a collision investigation.
Witnesses are asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.
