A 58-year-old man has been assaulted in a ‘unprovoked attack’ in Bradford on Avon.

At approximately 11.45pm on Saturday 16 December, the victim was walking past Bradford on Avon Football Club when he heard a loud bang.

Following the bang, three males jumped over a wall and followed the man on to Loddon Way and assaulted him; he sustained injuries to his head, bruising and a broken rib.

PC Thomas Griffin said: “This was a cowardly and unprovoked attack on a member of the local community.

“The three men are all described as white males aged between 16 and 20. They were wearing black tracksuits with the hoods up, and one of the males had a white hoodie on underneath his black hoodie.

“Do you know the names of the individuals involved? Did you see the men running away from the scene? Did you hear or see anyone acting suspicious near Bradford on Avon Football Club?

“We are urging anyone who may have heard or witnessed this assault to come forward. If you heard or saw anything suspicious in the area at this time please get in contact with us via 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111”.
