A small dog has been hit by a car which failed to stop on Lacock Road in Corsham.

The black Honda Civic, which is understood to have been doing in excess of the speed limit, collided with the terrier at around 4.10pm on Sunday 25 June.

The driver of the car did not stop following the incident, despite the dog yelping in pain.

A police spokesperson said: “We received a call at 5.10pm yesterday reporting a male driving a black vehicle had hit a dog in Lacock Road, Corsham.

“The dog was a brown and white terrier type.”

Wiltshire Police confirmed that they’ve received the report and any witnesses are asked to contact them by calling 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
