999 responders were called to a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in Swindon this morning.

All three emergency services attended the property in Kingshill Road at around 7.45am, responding to reports of someone suffering the possible effects of a gas leak.

Firefighters soon found that no carbon monoxide was present and stood down. Police also left the scene a short time later, leaving paramedics to treat one patient.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We responded to a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at an address in Kingshill, Swindon, at approximately 7.43am this morning.

“On arrival it turned out to be a medical episode and our services were no longer required.”

Carbon monoxide is the silent killer – you can’t see it, taste it or smell it. Found out more about what you can do to prevent poisoning on the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service website.
