A man who scared a family by pointing a gun at them has been sentenced to ten months in prison.
21-year-old Ryan New, of Beech Avenue, Pinehurst, admitted brandishing an air rifle from his bedroom window after his neighbours asked him to turn his loud music down.
Aiming it at the four-year-old girl, her dad and her grandma, he said: “I’ll shoot you all. Come on, I’ve got a gun – I’ll shoot the lot of you”, Swindon Crown Court heard.
Armed police were called to the incident on 22 June, with police forcing Swindon Academy to lock down the school over fears their students could be harmed by the reported ‘gunman’.
New admitted possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and was sentenced to ten months imprisonment. He was immediately committed to prison.
