A Swindon man who stole a chocolate stand on Christmas Day has been jailed.
David Mundy pleaded guilty to a staggering 31 offences when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on 8 January.
The 36-year-old, of Farndale Close, admitted 15 thefts, 15 breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), one count of attempted theft and one count of assault.
All of the 31 offences took place between 12 December and 9 January at various shops across Swindon including Tescos, Morrisons and Co-Op.
In one incident on Christmas Day, Mundy stole a stand full of chocolate to the value of £75.
He was jailed for 16 months, and the CBO will continue.
PC Will Cooper said, “We are pleased with the outcome in this case, in which David Mundy, a prolific Swindon shoplifter has been convicted after being charged with 32 offences.
