A small dog has been serious injured by another dog near Salisbury.
Police are appealing for information following an incident in which a 13-year-old Jack Russell called Sparky was attacked by another dog.
At around 8pm on 13 June the dog was on a walk with his owner in The Folly, Bemerton Heath when he was attacked by a brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
The owner of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is described as a white male of stocky build aged in his early 30’s. He had short brown hair was 5’8-5’10 in height and was wearing tracksuit bottoms with a blue t shirt with coloured patches on it.
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier was described as brown with black speckles.
Sparky was taken to Avon Lodge Vets where he recieved emergency treatment and at the time it was not known if Sparky would survive the night. Fortunately he is now expected to make a full recovery.
Sparky’s owner is understandably very upset and is facing large bills for his treatment.
