An investigation is underway tonight, following a major caravan fire in Melksham.

Firefighters from across north and west Wiltshire were called to the scene in Forest Road at just before 8pm tonight, where the large static home was well alight.

Fire crews from Melksham, Corsham and Trowbridge attended the incident, extinguishing the blaze using two hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus and one main jet.

The caravan was completely destroyed. Police and a fire investigation officer are on scene.

It’s not currently known whether anyone was hurt during the blaze.
