Wiltshire Police has launched an investigation after a man was found with “very serious injuries”.

The victim, in his 50s, remains in hospital following the attack in Swindon between 10pm on Thursday (27 January) and the early hours of Friday morning (28 January).

The man was found with significant injuries in Beechcroft Road, Meadowcroft, some hours later. The victim is now fighting for his life.

The force has released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the assault.

“This was a nasty incident which has left the victim with some very serious injuries which are really shocking. He is still receiving treatment for these injuries in hospital and has been left extremely shaken up”, Detective Inspector Rachel Hardy said.

Adding: “We have been conducting extensive enquiries to piece together a timeline of exactly what happened and we now have CCTV images of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

“I ask you to please take a look at the photos closely – do you recognise this man? Were you in the Meadowcroft area at any point overnight on January 27-28 and did you see anybody acting suspiciously?

“We would also urge anybody with any dashcam footage or CCTV in the area that has not yet had contact with detectives to contact us as quickly as possible.

“If you can help in any way at all with our investigation, please get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
