An investigation is underway after a body was found in the River Avon.
Emergency services were called to the scene off Ashley Road, in Salisbury, this afternoon (25 February).
The woman was confirmed deceased and an investigation into her death has been launched.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called just before 4.30pm today to a report of a body in the River Avon behind Waitrose in Salisbury.
“Officers attended the scene and confirmed the woman was deceased.
“Our enquiries are at a very early stage and officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
