A council are investigating after a Staffy was ‘abandoned’ in Chippenham.
The female dog was found in the Hungerdown Lane area on Monday 16 March.
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier was collected by Wiltshire Council’s Public Protection Service, and is currently being looked after by the dog team.
A spokesperson said that it’s believed the pet was dumped by her owner. She is microchipped, but the details are incorrect.
“We believe this dog has been intentionally abandoned in the area of Hungerdown Lane, Chippenham”, they added.
The dog is currently safe and officers are working to trace an owner.
Anyone with information is asked to email [email protected] and quote reference number 599166.
Owners wishing to claim the dog must provide personal identification, proof of address, sufficient proof of ownership and make payment of all relevant fees.
