Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) has been deployed to support the police with an incident in the Marlborough area this afternoon.
Wiltshire 999s readers have reported seeing a large police presence in the area of West Woods earlier today, with the car park later closed to visitors.
The National Police Air Service helicopter was called in to assist in what is understood to be a high-risk missing person search.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We currently have a road closure in place at the main entrance to Westwoods, Marlborough – dog walkers are currently unable to park at the scene while the closure is in place.”
Police have confirmed this incident does not relate to the serious sexual assault five miles away, in Savernake Forest, on Monday morning.
