GALLERY: Marlborough homes evacuated due to major flooding

Dozens of homes in Marlborough have been evacuated due to major flooding.

Emergency services mounted an urgent operation to rescue residents from their homes south of the High Street after the River Kennet burst its banks following Storm Henk.

Firefighters deployed boats on the water as Wiltshire Search and Rescue volunteers assisted the ambulance service in bringing elderly locals to safety in a 4×4 vehicle.

A man, who exited a property with his suitcase, was helped to safety
Two Hazardous Area Response Units, from South Western Ambulance Service, were tasked with assisting

Police cordoned off Angel Yard, which was used as an access point for emergency services
Even Marlborough Fire Station was affected by the flooding
Homes and businesses in The Parade and London Road were flooded

London Road was closed to traffic due to the significant flood
Wiltshire Search and Rescue provided urgent support on scene
