A former Swindon councillor has been charged with two domestic abuse offences.
47-year-old Oliver Donachie, of Queen Elizabeth Road, is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Thursday, 29 February).
The defendant, who was a Tory councillor sitting on Swindon Borough Council until 2021, faces an allegation of inflicting grievous bodily harm on his then-partner on 6 February last year.
He’s also accused of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour by fitting cameras around the house, installing a fingerprint lock and taking his then-partner’s keys, bank cards and mobile phone.
The behaviour is claimed to have taken place between December 2015 and February 2023.
