Forensics are examining a car in an alleyway following a hit-and-run in Swindon.
A woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a vehicle which failed to stop in Rodbourne Road at around 2.20am this morning (Tuesday).

A silver Vauxhall Corsa – understood to be linked to the serious incident – is being examined by forensic investigators in a cordoned off alleyway in Crombey Street.
Rodbourne Road remains closed while an investigation into the road traffic collision is carried out, including 3D mapping of the crash site.

In an earlier statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are urgently appealing for information and potential witnesses, following a road traffic collision in the early hours in Swindon today (09/06) in which a female pedestrian was seriously injured.
“The driver of a car involved in the collision failed to stop at the scene.
“At about 2.30am, officers were called to Rodbourne Road in Swindon, near the Designer Outlet Village, alongside colleagues from partner emergency services.
“The woman was treated at the scene and has since been taken to hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries.
“We are now appealing to anyone who may have been in the area between 2am and 2.30am this morning and may have witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward as this could assist with our investigation.
“A scene remains in place and drivers should expect delays in the area.
