Officers launched an investigation into the disorder, arresting five men – four from Liverpool or nearby towns and one from the Swindon area.
A number of people are believed to have suffered injuries during the incident, and officers want victims and witnesses to come forward and assist the investigation.
Those arrested as a result of the police investigation include:

- A 24-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of violent disorder
All five suspects have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
PC Jamie Brown said: “This was a large scale disorder involving multiple people – we’ve been conducting extensive enquiries and have arrested five people but through our CCTV enquiries, we know there were more people involved, as well as further victims who have not made contact with police.
“Please get in touch as the information you have could potentially be significant to our investigation.
“Violence of this nature will not be tolerated and the behaviour of those involved would no doubt have caused fear amongst those attempting to enjoy a night out in Old Town.
“We will continue to conduct enquiries to ensure those involved are identified and put before the courts.”
