Five sexual offenders from Wiltshire are currently being hunted by police after going missing, information obtained by Wiltshire 999s can reveal today.
Offences committed by the offenders recorded as wanted include rape, assault by penetration, meeting a child following grooming, sexual activity with a child (no penetration) and sexual assault by intentional touching.
The offenders are recorded as wanted by the police because their whereabouts are unknown.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “This total is only valid for this date because the information is dynamic and will change as arrests are made or new cases come to light through proactive intelligence led policing or routine visits to registered offenders.”
In 2017 alone, 151 people in Wiltshire were ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register, and in the first three months of 2018, a staggering 49 local residents were convicted of sexual crimes.
