Five arrests have been made after ‘drugs related’ shooting in a Swindon street.
Emergency services were called to St Paul’s Street in Gorse Hill shortly before 9pm on on Friday evening (19 June) following reports a man had been gunned down.
The victim, who is aged in his 30s, was rushed to the Major Trauma Centre at Bristol’s Southmead Hospital – after receiving critical care from air ambulance medics.

Firearms officers raided a property in Queens Drive shortly after the attack, with a suspect arrested. Four further arrests have been made today (Saturday).
In an update, Wiltshire Police confirmed the following five arrests:
• A 51-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
• A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and being concerned in the supply of Class C drugs
• A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender

• A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation
• A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation
They remain in custody for questioning this afternoon.
