Firefighters have scaled a ladder to attack a thatch blaze in a Wiltshire village.
Emergency services were called to North Street in Broad Chalke, near the county border with Dorset, this afternoon (Friday).
Numerous fire crews – including at-risk Wilton – are in attendance, working to stop the spread of the flames to save the thatched cottage and its contents.
Pictures show multiple firefighters scaling a ladder onto the roof to remove reed or straw to prevent further damage.
A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters are currently working hard to extinguish a thatch fire near High Road, Broad Chalke.
“The road has been closed, so please avoid the area or find an alternative route until further notice.”
