Firefighters released a casualty from an overturned car in west Swindon last night.
The emergency services were called to Mead Way – near the Shell Garage – just before 11pm following 999 calls about a serious crash.
On arrival, crews discovered a silver Nissan car – which was being driven by a man at the time – on its roof and severely damaged.
A female casualty was trapped inside the vehicle. She was released by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment and small gear.
She was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol via land ambulance.
The extent of her injuries are unknown, but they are understood to be serious.
