Firearms officers swarmed an address after an incident near Trowbridge.
After ditching their cars on the B3105 New Terrace in Staverton, armed police carrying rifles were spotted running into a property on Thursday (26 February).
The busy route was partially blocked by the emergency vehicles at around 3pm as officers carried out a search of an address – with the consent of the resident.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed that the incident related to concerns raised for a person’s welfare.
Firearms officers were deployed “as a precaution”, they added.
A man was reportedly put into the back of a police van and handed over to an ambulance crew for assessment in the car park of the former Old Bear Inn.
The force said that no arrests were made.
