A dog that escaped from a home in Swindon yesterday afternoon following a gas explosion which saw a teenager injured has been found dead.

Milo was found fatally injured after being hit by a car on the A420 Oxford Road.

Emergency services were called to the suspect gas explosion in Ecklington, Eldene, at before 4pm this afternoon where neighbours reported feeling their house shake before rushing to help.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance, carrying specialist paramedics and doctors, landed on Eldene Drive just after 4pm to provide support to South Western Ambulance Service at the scene.

A teenage girl was airlifted to hospital from the scene with burns.

A spokesperson for Wales & West Utilities said: “We’re aware of reports of an explosion at a property in the Ecklington area of Swindon.

“Our engineers are working with the emergency services to investigate the cause.”
