A transporter, carrying around eight cars and vans, caught fire on the M4 today.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9.30am, Thursday 23 February.
Four fire engines from Swindon and Chippenham and a water carrier Ramsbury attended the scene and are likely to remain there until around 3pm.
The M4, between junctions 16 and 17, in both directions was closed for some time but reopened with just a lane restriction westbound around the lorry.
Firefighters initially extinguished the fire using three main jets and one hore reel jet. A total of six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were used.
Police and the Highway agency remain also in attendance.
