Emergency services are currently responding to a ‘welfare incident’ at a lake in Swindon.
999 crews were called to Raychem Lagoon on Cheney Manor Industrial Estate at around 5.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
The incident, which is located just off Bruce Street Bridges, saw a significant police response – including a specially-trained medic and dog unit.
A fire crew from Westlea, a fire officer, an ambulance crew and an ambulance officer are also in attendance.
Wiltshire Police said the incident was causing traffic delays – but all major roads are flowing as usual for rush hour in the area.
Piezelétrico Place is blocked by emergency vehicles, with no access for residents at present.
In a statement, a force spokesperson said: “Please be aware of road closures that are currently in place in the vicinity of Bruce Street Bridges roundabout in Swindon.
“Police, supported by other emergency services, are responding to a welfare incident.
“There is no risk to the public.
“Please avoid the area if possible and expect significant delays.
“We will provide further updates when appropriate.”
